How the platform works from signup to live strategy execution.

The website and mobile app are just access points. The actual platform ties frontend controls and reporting to backend systems, Plaid workflows, and brokerage-side execution through Interactive Brokers.

Platform flow

  1. Create an Open Data Club account.
  2. Complete onboarding and disclosures.
  3. Connect or open an Interactive Brokers account.
  4. Link a bank through Plaid when required.
  5. Activate the strategy.
  6. The engine monitors account state and the dashboard reflects it.

Plaid’s role

Plaid is used for the bank-link experience and related authorization flows. It is not the brokerage and it is not the trade execution layer.

Interactive Brokers’ role

Interactive Brokers is the brokerage record system. It provides the actual account balances, positions, trade execution, and order status events that the platform must reconcile against.
